Training in the gi is the traditional way to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The gi adds grips, controls, and techniques that simply aren’t available without it. Learning how to use the gi teaches patience, precision, and timing. It slows the game down and forces you to refine your technique instead of relying on speed or strength. At Jungle Cat Jiu Jitsu, we train in the gi to honor the roots of Jiu Jitsu, build strong fundamentals, and sharpen the details of our art.
No-gi Jiu Jitsu is fast-paced, dynamic, and directly applicable to self-defense and MMA. Without the grips of the gi, movement is quicker and scrambles are more common. Training no-gi sharpens your reflexes, builds athleticism, and tests your ability to control an opponent without relying on cloth grips. At Jungle Cat Jiu Jitsu, we train no-gi with the same focus on technique and leverage, ensuring that what we practice works in real-world situations.

Open mat is a time for students to come together, roll, drill, and explore techniques in a relaxed setting. There’s no structured class—just an opportunity to train at your own pace, ask questions, and learn from teammates of all levels. It’s a chance to try out new ideas, sharpen your game, and get extra mat time. At Jungle Cat Jiu Jitsu, open mat is about building community, sharing knowledge, and enjoying the art of Jiu Jitsu together.
Our Kids Jiu Jitsu program is designed to build confidence, discipline, and respect—while making sure training is fun and safe. Kids learn the core techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, giving them practical self-defense skills and a strong foundation for the future. More importantly, they develop focus, teamwork, and perseverance on and off the mats.
At Jungle Cat Jiu Jitsu, we create a positive environment where kids can grow at their own pace. We emphasize safety, cooperation, and encouragement, so every student feels supported. As they train, kids gain not only physical skills but also valuable life lessons: how to handle challenges, respect others, and stay confident in themselves.
Jiu Jitsu is more than just a martial art—it’s a way for kids to build strength in both body and character.
