I was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy Seabees in 2005 and moved to Las Vegas, where I began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Mica Capili, then a Rigan Machado affiliate. Mica was an incredible teacher, and I earned my blue belt from him in 2007 before injuries and the recession moved my family to Washington.

In 2011, I joined Yakima MMA under Professor Rich “El Chupacabra” Guerin, a Sylvio Behring affiliate. There I trained MMA, taught grappling classes, and earned my purple belt in 2017. Rich was an amazing coach and person, and his passing in 2019 was a huge loss.

My family relocated to Middleton, ID, in 2018, where I trained under Professor Keith Owen, a black belt under Master Pedro Sauer. Keith completely reshaped how I viewed Jiu Jitsu with his focus on technique, detail, and longevity. I earned my brown belt from him in 2021. Keith passed away in 2022, but his legacy continues through Team Rhino, now led by Professors Josh Arents and Todd Richards. In 2023, I was honored to receive my black belt from Master Pedro Sauer himself.

I began coaching at Team Rhino and eventually led multiple classes. Now, in Texas, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned, honor my professors, and pass on my passion for both Gi and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu.

FAQS

Can I pay weekly, biweekly or monthly?

Your membership will be deducted on the same day each month. If you would like to set up an alternative payment schedule, please have a chat to us.

Can I put my membership on hold if I can't make it and for how long?

You are able to put your membership on hold for up to eight weeks if you are injured, busier than usual or expecting to spend time out of town. Please let us know two weeks in advance of your hold period and we will arrange to suspend your payments. We’ll need a start and finish date as we will automatically to restart your membership when your hold period is complete. We can only put a membership on hold for a maximum of eight weeks. Anything more is considered a cancellation, which will be carried out in accordance with our normal cancellation terms. Of course, we would love for you to come back and will be happy to discuss renewing your membership at any time.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

We have 3 different membership types:

Month to Month - Cancel anytime

6 Month Contract (Can be put on hold short term)

12 Month Contract (Can be put on hold short term)
